1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PDFRift at https://pdfrift.com(“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
PDFRift provides browser-based PDF tools including merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, converting, and editing PDF files. All processing occurs client-side in your browser. We offer free and paid tiers with different usage limits and features.
3. Accounts
You may use certain tools without an account. To access higher usage limits or paid features, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Process files you do not have the right to modify
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service
- Circumvent usage limits or access controls
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Free Tier
The free tier allows limited use of the Service subject to daily operation caps. Free-tier output may include a watermark. We reserve the right to change free-tier limits at any time with reasonable notice.
6. Paid Plans
Single Use ($1.99)
A one-time payment that unlocks the Edit & Sign PDF tool for a single session. Payment is non-refundable once the session has been used to download a file.
Pro and Business subscriptions
Recurring monthly subscriptions. You may cancel at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
Refunds
If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using a paid feature, contact us at legal@pdfrift.com within 7 days and we will review your request. Refunds are at our discretion.
7. Intellectual Property
The PDFRift name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property. The underlying open-source libraries (pdf-lib, PDF.js) are used under their respective licences.
You retain full ownership of any files you process using the Service. We claim no rights over your documents.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the output files will meet your specific requirements. PDF processing quality depends on the input file and browser capabilities.
You are solely responsible for verifying the output of any processed files before use in legal, financial, medical, or other critical contexts.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDFRift shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users by email of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
